Alisa Keetanitnun

Youth Action Fund (Thailand), an initiative from Open Society Institute-Youth Initiative (OSI-YI), gives small grants ($200-$2,000) to youth-driven (15-29 years old) projects related to the use of new media, which encompasses digital, computerized, mobile, and networked information and communication technologies, aiming to address the following issues:

-Alternative/new media development
-Access to justice for vulnerable groups
-Citizen education on rights and responsibilities
-Monitoring government's records on human rights and democracy
-Advocacy for the rights of citizens to participate in government decision-making processes

In Southeast Asia, Youth Action Fund is currently available to only youth residing in Thailand; but applicants can be of any nationalities. This program would be of interest to all youth/youth groups. Our first round of application is 15th June - 31st July 2009.
