Vision

A world of equal opportunities for all people to have access to and use knowledge and information to improve their lives.

Mission

As an evolving network of commercial, public and civil society organisations, GKP shares knowledge and builds partnerships to realise the transformative potential of knowledge, communication, and information technologies to improve lives, reduce poverty and empower people.

Partnership Principles

GKP is a membership organisation driven by shared values and mutual respect whereby members are independent, autonomous and have equal rights.

Aims
  • Convene knowledge sharing events with products and innovative solutions
  • Broker multi-stakeholder partnerships (MSPs) for knowledge sharing and increasing effectiveness of ICT for development initiatives
  • Promote innovation in the use and appropriation of ICT for development initiatives and knowledge sharing
  • Facilitate mobilisation of investments in ICT for development at local, national, and global levels
  • Influence policy, regulatory frameworks and public opinion
Objectives
  • Hold ICT4D events relevant to public, commercial and civil society sectors
  • Develop knowledge products and services
  • Broker new MSPs in thematic and geographic areas
  • Facilitate capacity building of GKP members to form, manage and advise on cross-sector partnerships
  • Enhance capacity building of GKP members in mobilising resources
  • Share best practices and experiences among GKP members in influencing policy and public opinion
