GKP constitutes a Regional Network for each of the seven regions: Africa, Central & Eastern Europe, East Asia, Latin America & the Caribbean, Middle East & North Africa, Oceania and South Asia. These Regional Networks complement GKP's global activities with a regional dimension.

Each Regional Network is coordinated by a Regional Coordinator, in close collaboration with the GKP Secretariat.

The Regional Coordinator:

• Is elected from among GKP members within each Regional Network for a two-year term
• Leads in the formulation and implementation of the Regional Workplan, which provides the framework for Regional Network activities in achieving GKP's Strategy 2010 at a regional level
• Develops, coordinates and manages all GKP activities in their Regional Network
• Represents the Regional Network as a member of the GKP Membership Committee
• Conducts membership outreach for their Regional Network
